Hyderabad, August 8, 2007

The State Government after reclaiming of 32 acres of assigned land from Ramoji Film City, it is now initiated the process of getting back of another 1363 acres of land from Ramoji Group. The Land Reforms Tribunal which is headed by the Revenue Divisional Officer of Ranga Reddy district, Manikyala Rao on Wednesday issued notices to eight firms of the group to to surrender the excess land within 15 days.

The holdings of the group mount to 1804 acres spread over Ramoji Film City and tracts in other parts of the State. As per guidelines, the eight firms can have 7.43 standard holdings in their possession whereas they have 34.70 standard holdings.

According to RDO, the process was initiated nearly eight months ago and the notices were issued again on Wednesday. He clarified that the Ramoji Group has the option of challenging the tribunal's order before appellate authority.
