Directs Irrigation projects to be completed in a couple of years
Nellore, August 5, 2007The Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy who was on a two day visit to the district reviewed the developmental works being taken up in the last three years. Speaking to media, he said that nearly 35 out of 64 major and minor irrigation projects will be completed and more than 36 lakh acres of land and will be irrigated across the State in a couple of years.
Reaffirming the ruling party Congress' agenda for the next 21 months, the Chief Minister said that the government will also construct 70 lakh houses under Indiramma in three phases besides distributing 15 lakh house sites to all eligible beneficiaries across the State. He said 50 lakh pensions will be distributed while nearly seven lakh acres of agricultural land will also be handed over to the farmers.
He said that a website would be launched with regard to Indiramma scheme on Tuesday so that anyone could bring any kind of irregularity to the notice of the Government. In addition to this, Compact Discs comprising details regarding Government schemes will also be distributed to all the political parties through District Collectors to verify the facts.
