Tax payers will come under purview with effect from January, 2008
Hyderabad, August 3, 2007
In a press release, the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax on Friday said that e-payment of Direct Taxes is a mandatory for corporate tax payers and tax payers coming under the purview of Section 44AB with effect from January next.
As of now, five banks viz., State Bank of India, UTI, IDBI,HDFC and Union Bank of India are offering this facility to their customers. The e-Payment mode is a simple process similar to net banking. The tax payer can pay his tax sitting in his office/home by using Internet. Further details can be had from the assessing officer/range heads concerned said the press release.
