Left Parties demand for Land Commission rejected

The Left parties demand for a Land Commission to deal with all land related issues is rejected by the State Government, The State Government however has offered to set up a monitoring committee to be headed by the Chief Minister and comprising of Group of Ministers instead of setting up of Land Commission.
Announcing this at a press conference on Thursday at the end of the two-day workshop for Joint Collectors on the recommendations of the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee, the Minister of Revenue, Dharmana Prasada Rao said the high level monitoring committee would address all land related issues regularly. He said that regional conferences of revenue officials will be held at Tirupati on September 16, at Hyderabad on September 18 and at Visakhapatnam on September 20 to discuss the land related issues.
Speaking on the implementation of the Koneru Ranga Rao committee recommendations, the Government had already agreed to implement 74 of the 104 recommendations and the remaining 30, nine recommendations have been found to be non-feasible. An announcement is likely to come out on the implementation of the remaining 21 recommendations that are found feasible.
