Hyderabad, August 23, 2007

The South Central Zone of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) on Thursday launched two unit linked plans viz., Profit Plus and Fortune Plus. Speaking to media, the LIC South Central Zone Regional Manager (Marketing) K Ganesh and Regional Manager (Personnel) Rita Bhattacharya said that Profit Plus is available for persons aged up to 65 years and the minimum payable is Rs.20,000 for single premium and Rs.10,000 per annum for regular premium paying policies.

The premium for the plan can be paid in one lump sum or in installments of three, four or five years. The premium to purchase units under this plan will be invested according to the investment pattern chosen from among the four different types. As far as the Fortune Plus scheme, it is open to those aged between 12 to 60 years. The minimum premium is Rs.20,000 for the first year is lived to five years and the premium payable to subsequent years is one-fourth of the first year premium payable. They said that the South Central Zone covers the States of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka stood first in the country by collecting Rs.1,910 crore as against the target of Rs.7,654 crore during 2007-08 and registered 23.03 lakh policies as against the target of 74 lakh policies.

They further added that the LIC has decided to introduce Enterprise Document Management System by which all 24 crore policies in the country would be digitized.. This would enable the officials to offer 'Any Time Any Where Service' to the policy holders.
