Hyderabad, August 2, 2007It may be recalled that the special court that heard the Tsundur massacre case over several years and finally ordered acquittal of 123 while sentencing 21 for life term and handing out one year's imprisonment to 35 others on Tuesday. The Dalit leaders have appealed the State Government to prefer a petition against acquittal of 123 in Tsundur massacre case.
The Dalit leaders urged the government in a statement on Thursday to file a revision petition in the High Court against it as the special court has given part justice. The appeal must be filed under SC/ST Atrocities Act.
The leaders called upon dalits to celebrate the convictions on August 6, 2007 as a commemoration day even though it was only a part of justice that was delivered. They hailed the tenacity of witness who stood against temptations and threats in bringing the culprits to justice.
