ACB officials unearth disproportionate assets from two officials
Hyderabad, August 2, 2007The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 1.90 crore and Rs. 90 lakhs respectively from two officials of the Irrigation Department in two separate raids. In the first raid, the officials stumbled upon incriminating documents belonging to M Satti Reddy, Deputy Chief Engineer working in Hyderabad whose assets were worth over Rs. 1.90 crore. The day long searches conducted at the office and residences of the accused officer and his relatives and associates revealed that he owned a three storied house constructed on 800 square yards land a MLA's colony worth over Rs. 45 lakhs.
He also owned a two storeyed building at Vidyanagar worth Rs. 7 lakhs and investment of Rs. 98.10 lakh, nine plots in the vicinity of the Capital city. He had invested Rs. 18 lakhs in Radan power projects and a bank balance of Rs. 8.22 lakh in the name of his family members, gold and other house hold articles worth over Rs. 5 lakhs and two costly cars worth over Rs. 17 lakhs according to the ACB Director General SSP Yadav. He said that he was arrested and will be produced before Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
In another incident, the officials of the ACB unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 90 lakhs belonging to K Sudhakar, Deputy Executive Engineer in the same department who was posted at Mulugu of Warangal district. Simultaneous seaches at the office and houses of the accused official and that of his relatives in Hyderabad and Warangal revealed that he owns four plots at Shamshabad and one at Medchal in addition to three flats in the city. He is also arrested and will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
