Court withdraws NBW
Warangal, August 2, 2007
It may be recalled that the police arrested the State secretary of Human Rights Forum, Balagopal without any prior information. Balagopal did not appear the court in earlier occasions that resulted in issuance of NBW against him in 2002. He is one of the accused in the murder of Sub Inspector Yadagiri Reddy that took place some 22 years ago. He attended the court and appealed the judge that the warrant on him be withdrawn as he was arrested by the police without any information.
The First Additional District Judge K Venkata Kishan Rao ordered Balagopal to give a personal surety of Rs. 10,000 and also sureties of two persons and the Judge gave seven days time for the surety. The police arrested him when he was in Khammam to attend the district level meeting of the Human Rights Forum at the ZP meeting hall on July 29 and he was released on personal surety from a local advocate and on condition that he should attend the court later.
