Chief Minister directed the officials

Tirupathi, August 2, 2007

The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) Chairman B Karunakar Reddy took serious exception to Forest Department collecting toll gate fee from pilgrims at Papavinasanam. He said that the toll gate was set up based on an old GO, which is obsolete now. According to the GO, over 257 sqkm of Tirumala Hills comes under the purview of the TTD.

On being informed about this, the Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy directed the forest officials to remove the toll gate with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the TTD is making elaborate arrangements for the upcoming Srivari Brahmostsavams. The TTD Chairman along with Joint Executive Officer and other officials inspected the on going works . He also directed the officials to replace the old television sets in VQC-II with latest ones.

Speaking to media, the TTD Chairman said that the theme park taken up behind the main temple would be opened in September. The theme park is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.5 core in two acres with the donations from Nagarjuna Constructions Pvt. Limited. The musical foundation will play in accordance to Annamayya sankeertans and Tarigonda Vengamamba keertans.
