Chief Minister takes Guard of Honour at Independence Day Celebrations
Hyderabad, August 15, 2007Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy participated at the 61st Indian Independence Day Celebrations held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. He received the Guard of Honour by the armed and other contigents. President and Prime Minister Medals were given to police personnel.
Speaking at the program, the Chief Minister said that the Government is dedicated at constructing pukka houses with all essential facilities for all eligible people by 2009. He sought the co-operation from every one in the society quoting that the efforts of no single Minister or official would be suffice.
Independence Day Celebrations are observed at all Government Offices in all districts across the state. At the celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan, PCC President Kesavara Rao hoisted the National Flag and addressed the party workers. He said that education and medical facilities have to be improved and that the Government has to work towards it. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) celebrated the day at its office at the NTR Trust Bhavan. Speaking at the function, Party President N Chandrababu Naidu called party workers that we have to struggle again like the freedom struggle to ensure that poor people gets justice. The BJP President Bandaru Dattareteya hoisted the national flag at its party office. Speaker Suresh Reddy hoisted the flag and addressed the staff at the Assembly premises.
