Ramoji and Sanghi groups amongst others found holding excess lands
Hyderabad, August 12, 2007The Land Reforms Tribunal of Ranga Reddy district will serve notices on the Ramoji and Sanghi groups of companies in Hayathnagr mandal found in excess of the permitted extents under the permitted extents under the AP Land Reforms Act. The Tribunal authorities handed over a copy of the final order to the advocate representing the Sanghi group of companies on Saturday as a prelude to revenue officials initiating action to recover the lands. The two can file their appeal petition before the appellate tribunal within 15 days of receiving the orders.
It is understood that the Sanghi group is making a representation to the Government to treat their excess land as Special Economic Zone and grant an exemption from the Andhra Pradesh Land Reforms Act. It pleaded that textile and other industries would be developed in the excess land if the exemption is given.
Ranga Reddy Land Reforms Tribunal is considering more cases of lands held by other companies especially Jana Harsha, Celebrity, Sai Real Estates, Satyam group, Srinidhi etc., and after physical verification, the Tahasildar concerned has already made submission to the Tribunal through an advocate on behalf of the Government. Final orders by the Tribunal in these cases are likely to be completed shortly.
