Arogya Sree Scheme in all districts by next November

Scheme to be extended in a phased manner

Warangal, August 12, 2007

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy during his two-day visit to the district speaking to media said that the Arogya Sree scheme which is at present in operation in Mahboobnagar, Anantapur and Srikakulam districts will be extended to all districts across the State by November next. He said that financial aid had been given to 3,500 people for treatment under the scheme. The scheme had been introduced in the wake of number of appeals to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

On Indiramma programmes, the Chief Minister claimed that nowhere in the country were such programmes being implemented. He said that the works on Indiramma houses were in progress and would be completed by October 2 and house warming ceremonies will be held by Dasara. He added that under the second phase, selection of beneficiaries will be completed before September 15 and Indiramma Sambaralu will be held from September 20 to 26. During the celebrations, the beneficiaries will be given the house sanction documents and house site pattas.

The Chief Minister participated in a day long review meeting with the officials. He also distributed house site pattas to the poor. Later, he addressed party activists in the Arts and Science College auditorium.
