Chief Minister to fly to Delhi on Thursday

To brief AICC president Sonia on Mudigonda firing

Hyderabad, August 1, 2007

The State Government has decided to resume talks with the Left parties to resume talks, the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy along with the Minister for Revenue, Dharmana Prasada Rao is leaving to New Delhi to brief the situation on Mudigonda firing.

According to sources, the Chief Minister will explain about the Bhu Poratam launched by the Left parties and the Mudigonda firing incident. He will also explain the steps taken by the State Government to resolve the land issue and the non cooperation by the Left parties. The State Cabinet that met on Wednesday discussed the issue and it is understood that the Chief Minister to reopen talks with the Left parties. This would serve dual purpose.

Speaking to media persons after the State Cabinet meeting, the Minister for Information A Ramnarayan Reddy said that the Chief Minister explained in detail the steps taken by the State Government before and after the Mudigonda incident. He said that the State Government has decided to resume talks with the Left parties and clarified that the Chief Minister never provoked the police personnel to deal harshly with the Communists.
