Retired judges to probe
Hyderabad, April 9, 2007As an attempt to stop the opposition parties from going further in their blame against the Chief Minister and the State Government, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy has ordered three judicial inquiries into DPEP Scam (of the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan), land allotments made to Raghuram Cements in Kadapa district and into the involvement of KVP Ramachandra Rao, Advisor to Government, on sale of farmer land near Nadergul of Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister gave a detailed reply in the house which spanned for about 4 1/2 hours. Earlier Opposition party TDP leader Janardhan reddy pressed a reply on the recent scams and developments in the state from the Chief Minister. The CM, in his reply, said that since the High court could not spare sitting judges, the inquiry will be conducted by retired judges.
