Gets funding from Government
Hyderabad, April 8, 2007The Fire Department was granted a funding of Rs. 17 crores for a period of four years. The fund starved Department which has to take up the task of attending emergency fire fighting operations now gets a chance to recruit more staff. A major allotment of this funding will go for Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati, as per media sources.
Director General of Fire Services, AK Khan said that the Government has sanctioned 23 posts of Station Fire Officers, 126 posts Driver Operators and 337 posts of Firemen. Khan said that the Government has given permission to outsource fire fighting services.
