All major political parties supports for the bundh
Hyderabad, April 4, 2007The 12-hour long bundh called by organizations representing Other Backward Classes ended peacefully effecting normal life partially. The bundh was organized in protest against the recent Supreme Court ruling to stay implementation of reservations for OBC in higher educational institutions.
Bus services came to an almost halt and train services are paralyzed. The bundh gained significance with almost all major political parties including the the ruling Congress party, opposition party Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP), Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS), Left parties have supported the bundh. Shop keepers and businessmen voluntarily have downed their shutters. Board and University Examinations were postponed.
Partial untoward incidents were reported at various parts of the state. Demonstrators have stoned a petrol bunk in Warangal while another mod attacked Fresh @ outlet at Shivam cross roads in Hyderabad.
