Disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 70 lakhs unearthed

Hyderabad, April 3, 2007

The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs.70 lakhs belong to the Deputy Director of Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, G Chowdary on Tuesday.

Simultaneous searches conducted by the ACB officials at the residence and office of the accused officer and also at the houses of his relatives in Guntur district revealed that he owned 18 acres of land at Mulukudur village Ponnr mandal in Guntur district, 53 acres at Chiramana village in Nellore district, one plot and a house in Hyderabad.

In addition, the officials seized Rs.14.36 lakh in cash, house hod articles worth over Rs. 2 lakhs and ornaments worth over Rs. 5 lakhs and the officials are continuing their searches.
