A devotee donated 4.5 kg gold ornaments to Lord Mallikajuna Swamy at Srisailam. The temple authorities who opened the hundi on Thursday found the gold ornaments in three bags. They were valued at Rs. 45 lakhs.

This is the highest donation ever received by the temple in the form of gold. According to temple authorities, the hundi collection account for 250 grams of gold every month. With the large quantity of gold, this month's collection included Rs. 42.85 lakhs currency.
