CCS police books case against TRS MLA and five others for fake passport

Police personnel probing into the case

Hyderabad, April 26, 2007

According the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Balwinder Singh, the Central Crime Station (CCS) has registered a case against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA K. Lingaiah for allegedly obtaining a passport with fake identify for a Gujarati woman. The police also booked another five and are probing the case. The Police Commissioner said that the police are investigating the case from all directions. The photo on the passport is not of Lingaiah's wife and the police registered the case based on suo moto, he said.

Unconfirmed reports says that Rasheed, the kingpin in the racket was picked up, while the police officials maintained that they are still looking for him. Interestingly, he is wanted by the city police since July 2006 in another case where he allegedly forged the signatures of Warangal MP Ravindra Naik who sent recommendatory letters to the Japanese embassy for visas.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police is likely to get another accused Rajendra Kumar Gampa to Hyderabad for further investigation. The Delhi police is led by Sub-Inspector Suresh Kumar along with police officials of CCS are now on the job of hunting for Rasheed.
