Chief Minister orders to close open bore wells

Directions given to officials on Tuesday

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy has directed the District Collectors and Revenue Officials on Tuesday to identify all dummy bore wells left without casings and fill them up at the Government cost. The review followed the news that a girl had accidentally fallen into one such open bore well in Nizamabad who died on Monday.

He said that no further loss of life due to such open bore wells would be tolerated. The Chief Minister said that the village secretaries must be made accountable for such deaths in future while ordering a quick survey of such bore wells in the State.
