Government to allocate 300 acres
Hyderabad, April 23, 2007Despite the main opposition party TDP claiming that Sem India is another Volkswagen, the Government has decided to issue a GO allotting 300 acres of land to Sem India's Fab City project. The Chief Executive Officer of the Sem India Vinod Kumar Agarwal was summoned to Hyderabad to address a media conference.
The Chief Secretary J. Harinarayana held a high level meeting with senior officials of the Industries department. According to the MoU signed earlier, the State Government will extend tax benefits to Sem India for a period of 15 years. In addition, electricity will be supplied to the project at Rs. 1.85 per unit for 15 years. The Minister for Industries, J. Geeta Reddy will address a media conference along with Agarwal to counter allegation of the opposition party.
Meanwhile, the TDP MLA N. Janardhana Reddy on Monday asked the government to clarify their doubts on the Fab City project instead of authorizing Sem India CEO to furnish the details failing which, he would come out with more documentary evidence on the irregularities in signing the MoU, he said.
