Partial response for TRS bandh in Nizamabad

Protest in against printing of danger mark

Hyderabad, April 20, 2007

The bandh call given by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) protesting against the mandatory printing of danger mark on labels of beedi bundles evoked partial response on the normal life in Nizamabad district. The bandh was peaceful and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the district.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and APSRTC suspended its operations to rural areas. However, students of engineering colleges and high schools who are taking examinations were put to inconvenience with the suspension of APSRTC buses. Banking transactions were not affected and the government offices worked as usual. Meanwhile, the TRS leaders claimed that the bandh was peaceful and total.
