Hyderabad, April 19, 2007

An all party meeting convened by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) at the NTR Bhavan on Thursday resolved to hold a state level convention in the State Capital on April 26 to discuss the beedi issue and finalize the dates of agitation programmes. Speaking to reports, Senior TDP Leaders K. Yerram Naidu, CPI Leader K. Ramakrishna and CPM leader S. Malla Reddy said that padayatras would be organized on May 2 in all mandals and villages protesting against the printing of danger symbol on beedi packets.

Meanwhile, the CPI and CPM leaders agreed to participate in the maha dharna being organized by TDP near SRSP in Nizamabad on April 24. The all party meeting presided over by the party president N. Chandra Babu Naidu and attended by CPM, CPI and New Democracy leaders also decided to intensify agitations the construction of Babli project.
