To establish a development centre at Ibrahimpatnam
Hyderabad, April 19, 2007The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the State Government signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday for the allotment of 75 acre land at Adibatla village in Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district to establish a development centre. This stretch of land is a part of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) promoted by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). The MoU was singed by the IT Secretary of the State Government SK Joshi and Regional Head of TCS V. Rajanna.
The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy called upon the IT Companies to support the Government in improving education standards in the State run junior colleges in the rural areas as part of their corporate social responsibility. At a press conference, the Chief Financial Officer of the TCS said that the new development centre would be built with a capacity of 15,000 seats an 15 lakh square feet in a phased manner by 2013. It would invest Rs. 400 crores for construction.
He said that the TCS had 5000 employees in Hyderabad centre and it was proposing to add another facility at Gachibowli in the city to accommodate 2500 employees additionally in the current financial year. He added that emphasis would be laid on bioinformatics and life sciences.
