Chief Minister takes up issue with Prime Minister
Hyderabad, April 11, 2007Party activists of the State Unit of the Bharateeya Janatha Party (BJP) including some senior members were caned by the Maharashtra Police when they were making way near to the project site. Senior party leaders including some of the former Ministers who served in the earlier Union Cabinet including Bandaru Dattatreya, Ch Vidyasagar Rao and others were arrested about 25 kilometers from the project site. Party activist who are heavily beat were rushed to the hospitals in the state.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister took a serious note on the behavior of the Maharashtra Government and reported the issue to the Prime Minister. A delegation of MP's from the state met Union Ministers and appraised of the situation.
