Sarasa devi to be in police custody till April 20

Magistrate denies bail

The prime accused in the recently unearthed District Primary Education Program (DPEP) scam, Sarasa Devi was, on Monday, denied bail by the 12th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. With this, Sarasa Devi will be in police custody till April 20.

Sarasa Devi's counsel said that she has disclosed everything necessary to the police during the investigation and there is nothing pending and hence requested for her bail. However, the public prosecutor filed an application seeking custody of her for some more time.

The DPEP case was later transferred to the CID.
