Hyderabad, September 7, 2006

Leaders and Party activist of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Vande Mataram song at their state headquarters - the Gandhi Bhavan. Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, APCC President K Keshava Rao and others participated in the programs in the morning.

Speaking on the occasion, YSR said that keeping the noise apart, the mere mention of the name of Vande Mataram itself creates a sense of inspiration in the hears of the people of the country. He said that institutions have the option of singing either of the three songs - Vande Mataram, Sare Jahan se achha or Maa Telugu thalliki mallepoodanda.
