Hyderabad, September 30, 2006

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced several new services on the eve of Dasara festival. AP Circle Chief General Manager RK Arnold speaking to media on Saturday said that Fixed Line Prepaid service would be launched soon for STD PCOs. The service would be extended to general landline subscribers. He said recharge coupons of denominations of Rs.500, to Rs10,000 will be available for easy recharge.

IVRS based Value Added service like movie songs and movie messaging to PSTN and cellular customers will be launched soon through franchise Pyro Network Wireless Fidelity provides high speed Internet access at public places like airports, hotels, convention centers and shopping markets. He said that they provided one lakh connections during this month taking their customer base to more than 14 lakh.

Arnold said they launched Broadband services and services are now available in 46 urban areas with working connections of 61, 640 and proposed to provide 1.58 lakh more connections and add about two lakh ports capacity in all major towns. Broandband multiply services will be provided in 118 cities and towns and it will enhance the Internet speed upto25 Mbps.
