APSRTC staff union to serve strike notice

The management failed on wage revision

Hyderabad, September 30, 2006

The National Mazdoor Union of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has decided to serve an indefinite strike notice to the management on October 3 as the discussions held on Saturday with the management failed on wage revision.

APSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director MV Krishna Rao held talks with the union representatives. The Union demand for upward revision of 35 percent in the basic pay scaled down later to 18 per cent was rejected by the Corporation. The union leaders walked out of and announced that they would serve a notice to the management said C Krishna Reddy, additional general secretary of the National Mazdoor Union.
