Lays foundation for Dental College
Cuddapah, September 27, 2006The UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday inaugurated 750 bed Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) that was built at a cost of Rs.125 crores. She was impressed by the Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy's efforts in mitigating the sufferings of farmers who were unable to free themselves from the grip of money lenders. She said that the suicide rate has come down considerably and that the Centre would come out with a package to help farmers in 16 drought hit districts in the State. She released water for 50,000 acres from the Brahmam Sagar and laid the foundation stone of Rajiv Gandhi Dental College.
She said that the RIMS would help fulfill the long cherished dreams of the people in the region for a modern medical facility. The praised the efforts of the Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy for his efforts in developing the State in all spheres.
