Special poojas by the community in Karminagar
Karimnagar, September 25, 2006Its Dasara Celebrations time and no matter where they are, Gujaratis always celebrate it big. The Gujaratis in the Karimnagar region, mostly who are into businesses, are celebrating the Dasara festival with pomp and fervor.
The 200-odd Gujarati families who are established in this region celebrated the Navrathi festivals with special poojas and the Dandiya dances. Dandiya and Garba are the official dance of the Navrathri's and is popular in the Gujarat and Sindh communities of Northern India. The traditional dance is a special mark during the Dasara festival season though it is performed in other major harvest and crop festivals of the year.
