The Kadapa Special Branch police arrested two persons who are sympathizers of Maoists at Kadapa APSRTC bus stand on Saturday. The main accused V Venkataramana who booked 26 parcels containing rockets and launchers from Kadapa to Gidddaluru in Prakasam district and his aide were arrested when they alighted an RTC bus said in a press conference by Superintendent of Police Y.Nagi Reddy to the media. He said that K Rami Reddy had booked 26 parcels weighing one tonne in Kranti Transports in Nellore on May 13 in the name of M.Srinivasa Reddy had told the firm that the bags contained motor vehicle spare parts.

The consignment reached Kadapa on May 15 but none claimed it till June 3. When the main accused Venkataramana went to collect the consignment, the transport firm staff insisted that Srinivasa Reddy should take delivery. At the behest of Venkataramana, one Naveen Kumar Reddy claimed to be Srinivasa Reddy and told the staff to book the consignment from Kadapa to Gidddaluru. Naxals paid Rs. 2000 to the main accused to book the consignment.
