EMRI and State Government signs MOU
Hyderabad, September 22, 2006The State Government on Friday signed a MoU with the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) to provide ambulance services to one and all free of cost for any health emergency. The MoU was signed by CBS Venkataramana, Commissioner, Family Welfare and Venkat Changavalli, CEO, EMRI in the presence of the Health Minister K.Rosaiah and B.Rama Raju, MD, Satyam Computers. Due to this MoU any person anywhere in the State will be able to get ambulance by contacting the EMRI on toll free number 108. The present network is such that an ambulance will reach the needy within minutes, the Minister said. The MoU provides for handing over 310 ambulances now with the Government hospitals to the network and release of Rs.14,000 for each ambulance a month towards maintenance.
