Senior IPS Officer and Controller of Legal Metrology RP Meena lands himself into another controversy. He backs an officer who allegedly harassed a women employee sexually and women organizations along with some political party leaders staged a dharna in front of the office.

The trouble started when women outfits began shouting slogans against Meena outside his office protesting against the alleged sexual harassment of a woman by Deputy Controller Vimal Babu and suspension of three staff members who stood by her. Meena who was annoyed by the scene and ordered his staff to remove the mikes and disperse the crowd. It is understood that he used foul language against them. Meanwhile, a vernacular daily photographer began taking pictures of the incident that further infuriated him. He demanded to know how he could take his pictures without his permission and even while the photographer was announcing his identify, he slapped him and banged the camera on the ground.

The women organizations who were enraged over the incident condemned and staged a Rasta roko at the RTC Cross roads and the journalists too joined them in the protest. The police rushed to the spot and took the agitators into custody. A delegation of joint action committee met the Chief Minister and Home Minister who took serious note of the situation. The Home Minister, K Jana Reddy assured the journalists that he would order an inquiry into the incident.
