Chief Minister reviews situation

The death toll in the floods mounted to 31 as the swollen rivers and streams flowed in to more villages and towns in several districts although there was a let up in rainfall on Wednesday. According to sources, eight more persons died. Five persons died in Warangal and two in Khammam and one in Adilabad. Forty six goats perished when a thunder bolt struck the flock in Adilabad district.
Normal life in Vijayawada was totally disrupted and several localities were under knee deep water level. The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the position with the Collectors. Meanwhile, the Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and M Satyanarayana Rao visited Karimnagar town to console the affected families. In Visakhapatnam district, water gushed out from Meghadrigedda reservoir after two gates were lifted posing a threat to the Airport.
