Digvijay Singh asks party men stop bickering
Hyderabad, September 20, 2006The Party high command issued a stern warning to the MLAs and MPs on Wednesday against going public with controversial statements on Telangana and asked them to stop bickering immediately. The Party high command in the form of a resolution adopted unanimously at an exclusively at an executive meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) and Congress legislative Party that stern action will be taken against those who indulge in the issue. Further, the meeting resolved the issue of Telangana to the AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh who rushed to the State in the wake of raging controversy made it clear that no leader shall air any of his view before the media on any controversy or enter into a slanging match. The Party high command is firm on the matter. Speaking to media, he admitted that party men were entitled to hold views which may be different from the official line but they could give vent to their feelings on the APCC president, the Chief Minister or himself. He said that Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) is still a member of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and there was no question of fielding a candidate in the possible by-election to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha unless he withdraws from UPA.
