TDP MLA Karanam remanded judicial custody

Ongole - Prakasam, September 19, 2006

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Karanam Balaramakrishna Murty has been remanded in judicial custody till October 3 in the case of unruly behaviour with the District Collector B.Udaya Lakshmi who filed a case against the MLA. It may be recalled that he surrendered before the police on Monday night and was produced before the Third Additional Munsiff Magistrate G.Rajyalakshmi on Tuesday.

The TDP followers in large numbers gathered and obstructed the police vehicle carrying him to the Court. The police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the mob. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary J.Harinarayan has called for a report on the incident.
