Rains sweeps many parts of the state
Hyderabad, September 15, 2006
The state, on Friday, witnessed moderate to heavy rains in many parts of the state. This brought about a cheer for the farmers who are eagerly waiting for timely rains for the crops. Srisailam received 25cms of rainfall while Atmakur reported 11cm. Many other areas parts of the state reported rainfall between 5 and 9 cms of on Friday.
The Metrological Department says that heavy isolated rainfalls are likely in the next 24 hours for the coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and the Godavari districts.
