Hyderabad, September 15, 2006

According to police sources, encounters in the Warangal and Nalgonda districts have resulted in the killing of six members of the maoist group. The list includes three women naxalites. Top notch leaders of the group - Madhu and Cherukuri Rattaiah were also believed to have dead in the encounter.

Police say that another top member Ganesh has managed to escape. An AK-47, three .303 rifles, kitbags and revolutionary literature were amongst the items recovered from the incident.
