Keshavarao says that the resignations hasty

Says resignations serve no purpose

Hyderabad, September 13, 2006

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao on Wednesday said the resignations by Telangana Rashgtra Samiti (TRS) president K.Chandrasekhara Rao and the Minister for Sports, M Satyanarayana Rao were hasty and uncalled for. Speaking at a press conference he maintained that his remarks were unintentional. He had only thrown a challenge to the TRS leader in response to the latter's provocative remarks.

Referring to the present political crisis, he said such issues did not serve any purpose. However, no decision was taken on the letters of resignation forwarded by two Ministers M Satyanarayana Rao and Moh Ali Shabbir through the PCC president to the Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy who reportedly drafted the letters on Tuesday night said he had forward the letters since the Ministers had picked up the gauntlet when TRS leaders accused the Congress of betraying the people of Telanagana.
