Hyderabad, September 12, 2006

The Telangana Rastra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Tuesday withdrew the remarks he made against Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and TDP leader Kadiam Srihari at the Siddipet public meeting. In a press conference, he referred to the performance of the both the leaders while speaking on the irrigation policy and he had no intention to hut their feelings.

He charged the Government of discriminating against Telangana by stopping hydel generation at Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar with a view to diverting water to Rayalaseema and Krishna Deltas. He demanded 121 hour power supply to save the standing crops in the region.

He warned that the party would mobalize farmers in a big way and paralyze the administration if the power was not supplied. On September 14, TRS MLAs and MPs would visit the areas where crops were damaged and organize dharnas at the collectorates on September 15.
