White ration cards distribution to be completed this month

Government to come up with procurement policy

The Civil Supplies Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said that the distribution of white ration cards to all eligible persons would be completed by this month end. He said plans were afoot to come up with a procurement policy and to supply more commodities through fair price shops. The Government was also in the process of introducing online monitoring of LPG dealers to keep track of supply and distribution. He said that distribution of white cards in all municipalities and Corporations barring Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam had been completed and the officials were on the job to complete the task in rural areas. The Minister said that 58.32 lakh white ration cards were distributed in urban areas and 1.20 crore cards in rural areas.
