Submits letter to Prime Minister

Hyderabad, September 1, 2006

National Coordinator of Lok Satta, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan has resigned from the National Advisory Council (NAC). In a letter to the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, he said that the demands of his work after converting the Lok Satta into a political party had forced him to quit.

Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan said that all parties should work together to build a clean, robust, mature, just and equitable polity. He explained the Prime Minister that the Lok Satta had generated a wide public debate in the State on the need for a new political culture.

Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan and his team are touring various districts in the state holding public meetings and are actively interacting with the people to understand their needs, wants and opinions. It may be recalled that Lok Satta has turned into a political party to give 'new blood' to the politics.
