Special poojas performed at the temple
Vijayanagaram, October 9, 2006The 'Thollellu Utsav' of Sri Pydithalli Ammavaru was performed on Monday with religious fervor. The Chief priest of Devasthanam B Byraginaidu welcomed the temple trustees P Ananada Gajapati Raju, Ashok Gajapati Raju and their family members with Purna kumbham. They offered pattu vastralu to Ammavaru.
Special poojas followed by a procession of six ghats by the devotees, two ghatas made of pancha lohas are called Thalli ghatas while the rest are made of bronze. The festival is an agrarian during which the farmers till the land after sowing the seeds offered is prasadam to the presiding deity. Thousands of devotes across the State and Orissa participated.
