SemIndia to come up with chip-making facility
Hyderabad, October 3, 2006The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the proposed SemIndia Fab City Project which plans to set up a chip making facility near the upcoming International Airport at Shamshabad is expected to be started in November.
The MoU for the facility was signed between the promoters of the facility, SemIndia and the Government of Andhra Pradesh in February last when the latter earmarked 1200 crores of land. The State Government is awaiting clearance from the centre.
The Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will impress upon the Prime Minister the need for an early announcement of the policy. He is keen on speeding up the Fab City project in view of its enormous potential to impact the State's economy.
