Nearly 23 Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders surrendered before the Governor pet Police on Sunday following registration of bailable cases against them for taking out a procession portraying Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy in an objectionable manner on October 19.

The TDP leaders took out a rally to protest against the Chief Minister's role in the Gouru Venkat Reddy case and Outer Ring Road project. But the Congress leaders objected the manner in which a Dalit who portrayed the Chief Minister was symbolically beated, the Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao said at a press conference that they would continue to agitate until the TDP President tendered a public apology to dalits for insulting them. He said that he will take up the mater with the President, Prime Minister, the Governor and National Commission for Scheduled Castes. However, the TDP rejected the demand for public apology.
