Chief Minister to address World Agricultural Congress

World Agricultural Congress is scheduled for May 2007

Hyderabad, October 22, 2006

The World Agricultural Forum has invited the Chief Minister Dr YR Rajasekhara Reddy to attend the World Agriculture Congress to be held in USA between May 8 and 10 next year and deliver the inaugural address. He is the only leader from the country to be invited to attend the three day conference which is held once in four years.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with the Agricultural Minister N Raghuveera Reddy and other senior officials regarding a blueprint to be drawn up for other developing countries for agricultural development based on the State's experience and would be presented at the conference.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister said that the recent Rs.9650 crores Central package announced for the farmers in the 16 districts of the State is expected to improve the economic and living conditions of the farmers. The funds would be used to reduce the debt burden of the farmers.
