Hyderabad, October 2, 2006

The Lok Satta National coordinator Jayaprakash Narayan who announced the launch of Lok Satta Party, a new regional political party with the national outlook said on Monday that the party would give thrust to four basic issues viz., education, health, skill development and implementation of policies that would double agriculture output.

He expressed confided that with the introduction of the party, there will be a drastic change in the State political senero in the coming three years. He said that the party is not thinking of contesting for the by polls in Karimnagar and Bobbili as it is concentrating on strengthening the party's base from the gross root level. He further said that the party would have five tier organizational structure with village units at the primary level followed by intermediate, district, State and National Units. The elections fir the office bearers of the party at the respective levels would beheld on the basis of a secret ballot.

He said people with criminal and corrupt antecedents would not be allowed. He said the primary members needed to pay Rs.25 as subscription fee and in addition to this, active members would have to contribute Rs.50 , Rs.100 and Rs.300 in accordance with their annual incomes. Those who can earn more than Rs.2 lakhs should pay 0.5 percent of it and those whose income is more than Rs.5 lakhs one percent. Transparency would be maintained in accepting donations. The party would issue receipts for donations and for contributions less than Rs.5000 and accept cheques in case of higher donations. Those donating to the party would be eligible for cent per cent tax exemption.
