Party activists blocks all Collectorates of all districts
Hyderabad, October 16, 2006The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists on Monday staged dharnas opposite District Collectorates demanding immediate resignation of the Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy for the role he played in granting clemency to Congress leader Gouru Venkata Reddy convicted in double murder case. Work at most of the Collectorates went slop or is severely disrupted. Police who were pressed into service arrested hundreds of party supporters at various districts in the state.
Tension prevailed in Chittoor when a large number of Congress workers too staged a dharna before the Collectorate against dharna. The police arrested TDP workers who staged dharna in front of Ranga Reddy district Collectorate for obstructing traffic.
Meanwhile, the TDP is planning to share dharna before BR Ambedkar statues across the State on October 19 with a slogan 'Save Constitution and Save Democracy'.
