54 suspected cases reported
Hyderabad, October 12, 2006The Minister for Health K Rosaiah on Thursday instructed the officials to hire 20 vehicles in each district immediately to serve as mobile clinics even as the total number of suspected dengue cases in the State rose to 54.
These vehicles which will have trained staff and medicines will visit various places, pick up patients suffering from dengue and admit them in hospitals. The Minister addressed letters to the District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners to intensify anti mosquito operations with focus on spraying chemicals in water logged areas and clearing solid wastes immediately.
Meanwhile a regional conference of officials of Health, Panchayat Raj Administration and Revenue departments is being held in Vijayawada on Friday for districts of Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari to tackle the situation. Similar meetings will be held in other regions also.
